In 2026, the orchard entered a new chapter.

We are a young, family-run operation, proud to care for this land and continue the work begun before us. Building on strong foundations, we’re shaping our own story—one rooted in stewardship, seasonal rhythms, and a close connection to both place and community.

For us, truffles reflect healthy soil, time, and quiet work done well. We grow, hunt, and share them with respect for the land and the people who have shaped it, knowing that this story continues to unfold beneath the trees and forest floor, season by season.

Our Truffles

Like much of what grows beneath the forest floor, the Black Truffle—known as the Périgord truffle, or Tuber melanosporum— is best understood through experience—by tasting, smelling, and sharing it at the table.

We’re incredibly proud (and a little humbled) to share that we have officially taken over Silverwood Truffles.

Before anything else, we want to acknowledge Paul and Rose, whose dedication, care and steady hands have shaped this place into what it is today. The health of the trees, the richness of the soil, and the reputation of this orchard are a testament to the years they have poured into tending the land. We are deeply grateful for the foundations they’ve laid and for the trust they’ve placed in us to continue the journey.

We are a young, family-run operation, proud to now care for this land and continue the work begun before us. We step into this role with respect — for the orchard, for its history, and for the rhythms that guide each season. Our commitment is simple: to be thoughtful stewards of the soil, to nurture healthy trees, and to grow and share truffles in a way that honours both land and community.

For us, truffles reflect healthy soil, patience, and quiet work done well. They are the result of time, trust in nature, and care beneath the surface — much like this transition. We’ll continue to grow, hunt and share them with deep respect for the people who have shaped this story so far, knowing it unfolds season by season beneath the trees and forest floor.

We feel incredibly fortunate to live and work in the Southern Forests, and to become part of this generous, grounded community. To all that we’ve met so far, thank you for welcoming us. We’re looking forward to what’s ahead and to sharing the seasons with you!

Odd perhaps. As we head into what could be our most productive truffle season we have decided to exit the truffle business for our next adventure. Today we engaged an agent to list our farm and business for sale. As they say “go out on high”.

Well we’ve started. Fresh black winter truffles from Silverwood Truffles in the Southern Forest region of Western Australia.

Perfect. Somewhere out there our winter black truffles are growing and ripening. Nurtured to maturity and only weeks to go. Conditions and signs are pointing to a bumper 2023 season. It finally happened. Blessings on the SW WA and the rich karri loam soil.

Truffle hunting and harvesting can be fun when the weather is favorable and whoppers come along. Thanks to Patricia and Rick- a dynamic harvesting duo.

Early morning in late autumn. Perfect conditions leading into our truffle season. In 4-5 weeks we will begin hunting and harvesting. We’re ready, we hope truffle gourmands are too. Truffles from the Manjimup Southern Forests region coming your way soon.

Cool misty mornings a great lead into the start of this season’s truffle harvest. Our first hunt starts on Monday. All signs good for abundant, mature, aromatic truffles.
